The Laboratory…by Cergy Pontoise University

Last February, the first “FabLab” inspired by a concept begun at MIT, opened its doors in France at Cergy-Pontoise University. This “manufacturing laboratory” makes machines, materials, and skills available so different types of designers can work on innovative artistic or technical projects. The idea has inspired cultural locations like 104 which initiated the Nouvelle Fabrique (New Manufacturing) project, a “fablab” revolving around new types of digital manufacturing.
