Clean Art Planet is an association composed of artist Gilles Cenazandotti, photographer Thierry Ledé and film director Charly Sansonetti. These three friends, all passionate about the sea, have undertaken a highly original, artistic, militant activity : they scour France’s beaches to collect and select objects rejected by the sea. The most impressive thing about this salvaging is that they find everything : cigarette lighters, doll parts, flip-flops, flippers and snorkel tubes, plastic bottles, pacifiers, balls, …
Then they class the objects by color, study this odd assortment washed up on the shore and give the pieces a second life in artistic compositions. Their photographic creations and poetic installations, like rainbow-colored paintings, can currently be seen at the Pavillon de l’Eau in the « Ta mer en tong » (Your sea in flip-flops) exhibition. Without modifying the colors of their findings, Clean Art Planet shows these pieces in playful, colorful scenographies. They invite us to reflect on the impact of what we throw in the ocean without thinking.
Until September 1 2012
